St. Augustine is more than a backdrop to me. I was born and raised here, in Lincolnville, so this city is tied to the way I hear music, the way I love, and the way I tell stories.

“St. Augustine Love” came from wanting to capture a feeling I know well: that moment when a place, a person, and a memory all start to feel like the same thing. The record is romantic, but it is also personal. You can hear the warmth of home in it. You can hear the Caribbean and R&B influences I grew up around, and the Afrobeats sound that finally felt honest to who I am.

I have been through enough to know that love is not always simple. Neither is the road to becoming the artist you see now. But some things are worth returning to. Some things remind you who you were before life got loud.

This song is my way of putting that feeling on record—for the city that raised me, for anybody who has ever carried home inside them, and for the kind of connection that makes time slow down.
